A project to produce new rice varieties and  commercial organic rice with high-tech applications has been commenced in Ngu Phuc commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong City by Thuan Loi Company Limited. This is the first high-tech rice production project in the city. Prepared in June 2016, this project will carry out trials of four high quality rice varieties namely herbal purple rice, rice for King 01 (Lua Tien Vua 01), rice for King 02 and incense rice on total area of ​​about 32 hectares.

Under the progress of the project, the company has now built an operating area, storehouses, paddy dryers. The company also plans to use 100% organic fertilizer made from animal dung for cultivation.

At present, the demand for organic rice is very high and the launch of this project to produce new rice varieties and organic clean rice reinvigorates the agricultural production and application of high technologies in Hai Phong City.

In 2017, Hai Phong authority passed the “Resolution on the application of hi-tech agriculture in the city for the period from 2016 to 2025 with a vision to 2030”. In order to concretize the resolution, Hai Phong City has made breakthrough solutions such as organizing dialogues  and inviting enterprises in the field of agriculture to invest in Hai Phong; assisting cooperatives and farmers in merging and exchanging land plots for large-scale production, applying high technologies; supporting the process of branding and labeling products.
